Overview
What this service covers
QR Immigration is a digital immigration management and inspection system that uses QR Code technology to assist in border crossings. This system was developed to replace the paper-based Arrival/Departure Card with a more modern, faster and more secure online check-in system.
The important details and steps are as follows:
How it works:
Travelers must register and enter their travel information (such as passport, visa, flight and accommodation information) via the official website or application in advance of their trip.
Once the information is entered, the system will automatically generate a QR Code.
Upon arrival at the immigration checkpoint, travelers simply present the QR Code (on their phone or printed out) for the officer to scan or scan through the automated kiosk (e-Gate) and they will be able to pass through the checkpoint immediately. Without wasting time on paperwork like before.
Key features and benefits:
Save time and reduce waiting: Helps reduce congestion at the border because officers do not have to waste time entering new Key Data, just scan the QR and all the information will be displayed immediately.
Reduce errors: Since the information is entered and checked by the central system in advance, it is more accurate and prevents document forgery.
Environmentally friendly: Reduces the use of paper (Paperless) in the immigration system.
Caution: QR Immigration is only a "channel and method of reporting information" for speed. Travelers must still have a passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining and a valid visa (unless they are a person exempted from visa requirements under the agreement).
